Eight New Foreign-Invested Businesses Approved in Yangon Region to Create Over 6,700 Jobs

Eight new invested businesses were granted in the Yangon Region in June 2025 to create employment opportunities for 6,773 people, according to the Yangon Region Investment Committee (YRIC).
The YRIC allowed 100 percent foreign investment to operate six businesses and foreign investment for two joint venture businesses in the industrial sector of the Yangon Region. The capital for these investments totaled US$7.791 million, with the goal of creating jobs for local residents.


An official from the YRIC unveiled, “The Yangon Region Investment Committee allowed these investments at its meeting 6/2025 held on 24-25 June. The invested businesses focus on the manufacturing of industrial products and garment products through the cutting, making and packing-CMP system.”


The regional investment committee also approved raising the investment amounts in operating businesses and the number of employees, including new investments in June. The committee allows monthly investments of Myanmar citizens as well as those of foreigners in order to create more employment opportunities for residents under the laws and procedures.
